The brightly patterned glass piece invites us to admire the striking image of an ancient artifact. In the late Roman period, walls of catacombs were decorated with plaques that appear to be the bases of broken bowls and cups – perhaps a way to identify the interred. The fascinating custom was practiced mostly by Christians; this piece contains a rare Jewish example. The circular design includes an Ark of the Law, birds, a palm branch (lulav), citron (etrog), amphora, shofar, and two lions flanking a menorah.
The red, orange, and gold tones on transparent glass infuse any room with warm light.
This artwork picture was crafted and decorated by hand and is one of a family of unique artwork crafted with the greatest care and love.
Every glass piece has a flexible hook on the back for hanging on a wall.
Perspex (plastic) can be ordered in place of glass – it is much lighter than glass (weighs half as much), and achieves the same visual effect. Please choose your preferred material from the list below.
It’s possible to order pieces in different sizes and variations. The price will be adjusted accordingly. For special requests please contact us at sales@alora-arts.com. |
