This hand-painted glass piece showcases an illustrated page with Hebrew calligraphy from a Grace after Meals (Birkat ha-Mazon) manuscript. Dating from 1727 Moravia, this volume was undoubtedly a luxury object. The illustrations are genre scenes from the lives of a new wealthy class of Ashkenazi Jews, wearing fashionable clothing in highly decorated settings.
The red, orange, and gold tones on transparent glass infuse any room with warm light.
This artwork picture was crafted and decorated by hand and is one of a family of unique artwork crafted with the greatest care and love.
Every glass piece has a flexible hook on the back for hanging on a wall.
Perspex (plastic) can be ordered in place of glass – it is much lighter than glass (weighs half as much), and achieves the same visual effect. Please choose your preferred material from the list below.
It’s possible to order pieces in different sizes and variations. The price will be adjusted accordingly. For special requests please contact us at sales@alora-arts.com. |
